TAKE CARE OF YOU(R CANDLES)
Lighting a candle is a caring gesture towards ourselves, that makes our home more fragrant, and that creates a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for us and our guests.
step 1
BABY, LIGHT MY FIRE
Candles have a burning memory, so when you light them, make sure to let the wax burn to the edge of the glass (2-3 hours). This will help prevent tunneling and keep the surface of your candle even!
step 2
TRIM IT, TRIM IT, TRIM IT
step 3
KNOW WHEN IT’S OVER
All good things must come to an end! When you notice your wax is running low, don't let it burn all the way down. Replace your candle with a new one when there's about 1 cm of wax left to avoid damaging the reusable jar.
ADDITIONAL USEFUL TIPS FOR YOUR CANDLE
- To intensify the fragrance and extend its lifespan, we recommend closing the doors and windows of the room where the candle is for the first hour of burning.
- If dust settles on the candle, you can gently remove it by wiping the surface with a soft cloth. The cloth can be dry or slightly damp.
- When lighting a candle, it's best to avoid drafts, fans, or air currents that can cause uneven burning, excessive smoke, or the fragrance to be absorbed too quickly.
HOW TO FIX TUNNELING
If the candle starts to tunnel (the main wax builds up on the jar's side), the wick may have trouble staying lit. If it hasn't gone too far, it can often be resolved.
How? Use a butter knife to carefully remove the tunneled wax to level the surface.
PS: Be cautious, the container will be hot to the touch when the candle is lit!
WHEN YOUR CANDLE IS FINISHED, YOU CAN REPURPOSE THE CONTAINER IN VARIOUS WAYS.
- Pour boiling water into the jar and wait for the remaining wax at the bottom to rise to the surface and solidify.
- Once solidified and the water has cooled, gently break the layer of wax that has surfaced, and empty the jar of wax and water.
- Clean the jar with hot water to remove any wax residue, using a soft cloth to dry it completely and preserve the label.
ALTERNATIVELY
- Place the candle in the freezer.
- The wax will tend to separate from the jar's walls, making it easier to remove.
- Wash the jar with lukewarm water to remove any remaining wax, using a soft cloth to dry it completely.
- Enjoy finding a new use for the jar.
